Today was our most quiet day yet. We started it of by finishing the computer setup, and it now works! So the Good Shepard Primary School is now the proud owner of three computers. They each consist of a screen, keyboard and mouse and the computer itself is a Raspberry Pi.
In the morning, the children were also practising their dance and drum routines for the party that is happening tomorrow. Yes that's right, tomorrow is going to be the first Katwadde Development day, it's a big party that will start tonight with dancing, that will last all night and tomorrow we will have multiple activities. We aren't quite sure what to expect but we are surely excited!
Halfway through the day we went to the Broadway primary school to see what John wants for his school in the future. As you can see in the pictures it looks really big, beautiful and good. Let's hope the Good Shepard Primary School will look like it some day, so the children of Katwadde can have the best possible education.
After we got back we got lunch and Jari managed to fabricate an on and off swith on the Raspberries. Meanwhile, I spend time teaching one of the women how the sewing machine worked. Honestly, it was more me watching her sew, because she picked it up really quickly. Together we made a little paper practise dress. It turned out great for the fact that it was made from paper, which did complicate things. But we didn't have a piece of fabric to practise on and this did the job.
All day we have seen the preparations for the party this evening. A truck full of firewood, a truck full of plastic chairs, a truck with tents and music boxes. Now the tents are set up and the music is playing. We will soon have dinner and then it will be time to party!
